Spc. Adair of Carthage, Texas attended Carthage Schools where he played football. Lee was currently in the United States Army and was supposed to come home from Iraq in September, when he and his wife are expecting their first child, a daughter that he wanted to name Avery. The couple's first wedding anniversary was less than a month away. Lee had decided not to re-enlist in the Army and was planning to come home and go to college. His father-in-law had given the young couple some land in nearby Deberry, Texas, to build a house. During his service, he attained the rank of Specialist. Lee was the only active duty member of the American Legion Post # 353 in Carthage. He had lived in Carthage most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Roberts and his paternal grandfather, Clarence Adair. He was killed in Iraq after he was hit by a road side bomb at age 26.
