AGOTA "Agi" SZABO BARDOS, 68, of Germantown, passed away January 20 peacefully in her home with loving family at her side. She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown. Agi was an enthusiastic member of the choir, prayer groups, the Secular Franciscan Order, and was recently inducted into the Equestrian Order, an honorary organization for lay Catholics. Agi shared the joy of her faith with everyone she met. Agi lived an extraordinary life. She and Denes, her high school sweetheart, escaped from Hungary after the 1956 revolution and were married in Austria. Upon arriving in the U.S., she obtained a scholarship to study at the University of Illinois. Shortly thereafter, she chose to give up her studies to care for her growing family. An accomplished pianist, avid gardener, talented painter, and adventurous traveler, she appreciated beauty in the arts and in others wherever she went. Despite her failing health, Agi danced one last waltz with Denes at their fiftieth anniversary party last month. Agi is survived by her husband Denes, daughter and son-in-law, Krisztina and Ken Inskeep of Indianapolis, IN; son and daughter-in-law, Attila and Maureen Bardos of Danville, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Gyongyi Bardos and Larry Otis of Albuquerque, NM; son and daughter-in-law, Laszlo and Carolyn Bardos of Lyme, NH; son and daughter-in-law, Arpad and Julie Bardos of Cordova, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Ildiko and Paul Sloan of Germantown; son and daughter-in-law, Istvan and Michelle Bardos of Germantown; son and daughter-in-law, Denny and Amanda Bardos of Batesville, AR; daughter, Elizabeth Bardos of Germantown; daughter and son-in-law, Hajnalka and Lee Klieman of Evansville, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Zoltan and Lia Szabo; brother, Joseph Szabo; twenty-seven grandchildren, and twelve nieces and nephews. A wake is scheduled for 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 23 in the chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown, beginning with a rosary at 4:30. The funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Canale Funeral Directors 901-452-6400
