Cyrus Beard, chief justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court, died at 8:45 o'clock Thursday night at his residence from neuralgia of the heart, after a sickness of only three days. He had been in poor health for several years, however. Arrangements for the funeral, which will be under Masonic auspices, have not been completed.
Cyrus' parents were Thomas Beard Jr. and Mary McKinley (who died in Washington Co., Iowa. He was first married to Narcissa (Nora) E. Wilson in 1875 (mother of Mary Olive and Claire). b. 6 Dec 1849 in Granville, Putnam Co., IL and d. 2 Jul 1893 in Evanston, Unita Co., Wyoming. In 1896 he married Francis B. Burkhead who edited the History of Wyoming.
