Mrs Elder was a woman of lovable character and one of Athens' oldest citizens. She was the wife of Mr A G Elder, who survives her. Only a few weeks ago they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, an event that brought together a large number of relatives and friends of the aged couple and was a most happy occasion.
Other members of the family who survive Mrs Elder are a son, Charles P Elder; two daughters, Mrs A D Chaney of Jacksonville, Fla, and Miss Laura M Elder of the home address; a sister, Mrs A C Jackson of Watkinsville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
