Denver Harms







Denver Harms age 84 passed away, Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born on December 23, 1923, in Benton County, Missouri the son of George Christian and Willie Marie Gardner Harms.
He grew up on a farm in Benton County, Missouri, where he has lived his entire life. He served overseas in the United States Army as a Medic in World War II.

On April 18, 1947 he was united in marriage to Loretta Williams, in Lincoln, Missouri. After marriage they made their home on a farm near Lincoln. He worked several years selling insurance for Farmer's Mutual and also farmed raising crops and livestock.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Winfred Harms and Ed Harms, two sisters Mary Harms and Loyce Huff.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta, one son Mark Harms and his wife Carol, of Lincoln, Missouri. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Tim Matthews and his wife Dena, Charles Matthews and his wife, Bekah, Aaron Harms and his wife, Kindra, all of Lincoln, Missouri, Rodney Huff and Jason Huff, both of Windsor, Missouri, Stacey Watts and her husband, Josh, of Knob Knoster, Missouri, Kevin Huff, of Cole Camp, Missouri, Shayna McClure and her husband, Chris, of Florida, Amanda Rogers, of Cole Camp, Missouri, Brent Huff and Travis Huff, both of Windsor, Missouri, 19 great-grandchildren, one brother, Lawrence Harms and his wife, Donna of Lincoln, Missouri and nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Denver Harms will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, in Lincoln, with Rev. Wayne Isgriggs, officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, in Lincoln. Pallbearers will be Tim Matthews, Charles Matthews, Aaron Harms, Rodney Huff, Jason Huff and Kevin Huff. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brent Huff and Travis Huff. Memorial contributions may be made to the Denver Harms Memorial in care of the Davis-Miller Funeral Home.
