Charles A. Baldwin, 82, of Norfolk, died April 17, 2001.
Born in Nebraska, he retired from Phillips Lincoln Mercury as an automobile salesman and was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church where he was active as a trustee and a church council member. Mr. Baldwin was also a member of Ocean View Masonic Lodge No. 335, AF&AM, and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a veteran during World War II serving as a pilot in the U.S. Navy and was a skilled wood craftsman.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Baldwin; two daughters, Charlene Maroney and husband, Bill, of Florida and Suzanne Hodges and husband, Charlie, of Arizona; a son, Edward ''Bird'' Baldwin and wife, Gisele, of Norfolk; a brother, Albert Baldwin and wife, Polly, of California; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miles Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Morris A. Bennett. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miles Memorial United Methodist Church.
