Cecil Dale Allgood, 86, of Lohman, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was born September 2, 1928, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, a son of the late Cecil Ernest and Pansy (Smith) Allgood. He attended Oskaloosa High School in Oskaloosa, Iowa. On January 31, 1955, Cecil was united in marriage in Arlington, Virginia, to Cleo Morelock, who survives at their home.
Cecil was Safeway Grocery manager in Washington, D.C., and previously worked for Easter’s Super Value as assistant manager in Centerville, Iowa. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Cecil was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and spending time with his grandkids. Cecil was known for his kindness, teasing nature and generosity.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cleo Allgood of the home; two sons: Mark Allgood (wife Penny) of Centerville, IA; Matt Allgood (wife Cindy) of Rogers, AR; one daughter: Michele Allgood of Jefferson City; one brother: Ernie Allgood (wife Billie) of Beacon, IA; one sister: Mary Fielder (husband Dick) of Oskaloosa, IA; twelve grandchildren: Nicki Allgood Salisbury, Rian Campbell, Brooke Allgood Gaffigan, Zach Campbell, BJ Kauzlarich, Blaine Allgood, Randi Campbell Owens, Markie Allgood, Zoe Allgood, John Allgood, Breanna Vandemark, Jenna Sivetts; and eight great-grandchildren: Leea Allgood, Jonah Allgood, Isaac Gaffigan, Ava Salisbury, Lucas Gaffigan, Cora Allgood, Kippling Kauzlarich and Henry Gaffigan. Cecil was also preceded in death by a son: Bobbie Dale Allgood in 2002.
