Cecil was Safeway Grocery manager in Washington, D.C., and previously worked for Easter’s Super Value as assistant manager in Centerville, Iowa. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Cecil was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and spending time with his grandkids. Cecil was known for his kindness, teasing nature and generosity.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cleo Allgood of the home; two sons: Mark Allgood (wife Penny) of Centerville, IA; Matt Allgood (wife Cindy) of Rogers, AR; one daughter: Michele Allgood of Jefferson City; one brother: Ernie Allgood (wife Billie) of Beacon, IA; one sister: Mary Fielder (husband Dick) of Oskaloosa, IA; twelve grandchildren: Nicki Allgood Salisbury, Rian Campbell, Brooke Allgood Gaffigan, Zach Campbell, BJ Kauzlarich, Blaine Allgood, Randi Campbell Owens, Markie Allgood, Zoe Allgood, John Allgood, Breanna Vandemark, Jenna Sivetts; and eight great-grandchildren: Leea Allgood, Jonah Allgood, Isaac Gaffigan, Ava Salisbury, Lucas Gaffigan, Cora Allgood, Kippling Kauzlarich and Henry Gaffigan. Cecil was also preceded in death by a son: Bobbie Dale Allgood in 2002.
Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4930 Old Lohman Road in Jefferson City, where Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Brian K. Credille officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
