Alice R. Hron (Butterfield), age 83, of 4609 Camden Rd. in Madison, died on Tuesday, March 10, 1987 at a local hospital. She was born on September 22, 1903 in the town of Burke and had lived in the Madison area all her life. She married Henry J. Hron in 1920 in Sun Prairie, and he preceded her in death in 1982. She had been a salesperson at the J C Penney Store for over 10 years. She was formerly a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sun Prairie and presently a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison. She was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by four children; Henry B. (Lilah) Hron, Catherine M. (Thomas) Thompson, Eugene J. (Jane) Hron and Robert W. (Alta) Hron all of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Ernestine Lundine and Mary Butterfield Christiansen both of Madison; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was further preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Bowers Butterfield in 1917; and two sisters, Wilma Marion (Butterfield) Westby in 1951 and Hazel Floy (Butterfield) Bemus in 1943. Funeral services will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 409 Dempsey Rd. at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 1987. Father Delbert Klink will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sun Prairie. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 1987 at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church.
