OBIT - Cedar County News, Hartington, NE, May 20, 2008:

CROFTON — Melvin Ausdemore, 81, Crofton, died May 8, 2008, at the Avera Sacred
Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D., as a result of a farm accident. Mass of Christian
Burial was May 12 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Constance, with the Rev.
Michael Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Constance
with military rites by the Crofton American Legion Post #128.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. There will be visitation on Monday one
hour prior to services at church in Constance. Pallbearers will be Arlan
Haberer, Dan Haberer, Marlin Haberer, Steve Haberer, Robert Haberer and Daryl
Ausdemore.
Melvin Adolph Ausdemore was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Constance, to Herman and
Frances (Koch) Ausdemore. He graduated from Constance Grade School and Crofton
High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged
and farmed southeast of Crofton. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church, Constance, and the Crofton American Legion Post #128. Melvin is survived
by two sisters, Clara Haberer, Crofton, and Anna Ausdemore, Bloomfield; 13
nephews and nieces; many great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in
death by his parents, and two brothers, Leo and Emil Ausdemore.
