Luther Woodrow Bird, 80, of Conway died Monday (Feb. 8, 1999) at McClellan Veteran's Hospital.
Born Feb. 18, 1918, in Perryville, a son of Delta Bird, he was a self-employed electrician, a Methodist and a member of Green Grove Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Arvelle Draper.
Survivors are his wife, Oneta Payne Bird; three sons, Farrel Bird of Clinton, Darrel Bird of Kelso, Wash., and L. David Bird of Conway; a brother, John Bird of Atkins (Pope County); four sisters, Veta Phillips of Columbus, Ga., Dorease Lipe of Taylor, Mich., Mertalene Troutman of Higden (Cleburne County) and Patricia Cowan of Reno, Nev.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were today at Blackwell Cemetery in Bee Branch with Masonic rites by Green Grove Lodge. Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett-Conway.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
