Melissa is my younger sister, she was the second to the youngest of us girls. She would have been 39 years old in July 2006. She left behind three beautiful children, her mother, stepmother, three brothers and four sisters. We miss her very much! Losing a sister is very hard, I can only imagine what my moma is going through. We are all very close and have been through alot with each other. Melissa struggled with life and it got the best of her. She loved people and animals, she loved her family. Melissa was kind and compassionate and loved life. She battled with inner demons that finally took the life out of her beautiful spirit. God chose to take her home with him in Heaven so she can finally live in peace. We know she is ok now but we still miss her and a day does not go by that she is not being thought about. We are just thankful for the time that God allowed her to be with us. She is resting next to my grandparents so she is in good hands. Melissa also has all my mother's family there, it is a family cemetery so no one is alone there.

She is the daughter of the late Thomas Ducote and Jennie Lee Guillory Ducote from Marksville, La. Our father's memorial can be seen on this site also.
