ERNEST MARTIN BOSHERS, 84, passed away May 15, 2008 at his home. He was born in Blytheville, Arkansas, but grew up in the Shelby Forest/Millington community. He was retired from American General Life Insurance Company. He was a veteran of World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart, serving in France and Italy. He was known for his great love of God and the Church, and for his family. He was a longtime member of Getwell Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; one daughter, Joyce Perry of Batesville, Mississippi; three sons, Chuck Boshers (Gerry) of Hernando, Mississippi, Mike Boshers of Memphis and Andy Boshers (Tammy) of Magnolia, Texas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, George Hannah; and two sisters, Colleen Hannah and Beni Bonucchi of Millington. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Interment in Memphis Memory Gardens. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Getwell Church of Christ, or charity of choice. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar. (Published in The Commercial Appeal on 5/17/2008)

"He worked at the Kimberly-Clark Memphis Mill shortly after WWII. His job had something to do with rail cars there. My Dad told me of when he worked there as a kid (lying about his age). I worked at Kimberly Clark Memphis Mill during 1980-83 as an engineering co-op for Chuck Griffin and retain many fond memories of my experiences there."
