Lula Merle Hughes, age 93, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., died in a local hospital Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998.
She was born on April 21, 1905, in Walton County, Fla., and had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs for the past 30 years. Mrs. Hughes was Methodist by faith and a member of First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs.
Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. Hughes; and one sister, Vertie J. Caswell. -------
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Clary-Godwin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Sowell officiating. Visitation will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
