Thurman P. Eddlemon, 80, of Newton, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the Shady Acres Health and Rehab Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, December 19, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Thurman was born August 24, 1925 in Pearcy, AR, to parents; Will and Betty Weatherford Eddlemon, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in the Newton area for the past three years. He was a retired employee from Champion Paper in Cleveland, a veteran of the US Air Force with service during WW II and Korea, member of the Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed working in his yard, playing guitar and singing at church.

Mr. Eddlemon was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Patsy Eddlemon, brothers: Henry and Roy Eddlemon, and sister: Floye Sarafin.

He is survived by his brother: Lloyd Eddlemon of Friendswood, sister: Ella Mae Short of CA, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
