Survivors include her husband, Bruce E. Groover, Statesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Gale Groover Smith and Mrs. Julia G. Smoak, both of Statesboro, and Dr. Grace Groover Newsome, Augusta; seven sons, Benjamin Edward Groover, Samuel E. Groover, Gilbert Groover, Wayne Groover, Warren Groover, Stevie Groover and Elder Al Groover, all of Statesboro; five sisters, Mrs. Etta Mae Ballard, Mrs. Margaret Foster, Mrs. Glenice Holmes, all of Spartanburg, S.C., Mrs. Frances Sperry, New Orleans, La. and Mrs. Martha Bolus, Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Clifford Hayslip, Spartanburg, S.C.; and 23 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. in the Hodges-Turner Funeral Home chapel with Elder Michael Newman and Elder Shelton Mikell officiating. Burial will be in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Augusta Area Alzheimer's Disease Association.
