She was born on Sept. 24, 1921, in Roanoke, Ill., a daughter of Benjamin and Otilla Schumacher Fehr. She married Lloyd DesCarpentrie on March 23, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. He passed away on April 5, 1961.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd (Julie) DesCarpentrie of Hancock, Vt., Russ (Jane) DesCarpentrie of Secor, Ill., and Stan (Jane) DesCarpentrie of Eureka, Ill.; one brother, Bill Fehr of Roanoke, Ill.; one sister, Bena Mae Rocke of Eureka, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Isaac, Edward and Benjamin Fehr; and one sister, Doris Gingrich.
Lois worked as a secretary for the Roanoke-Benson Unit District No. 60 at Sowers Elementary School for over 20 years.
Lois was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. before the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke or Eureka Apostolic Christian Homes.
