Chico Enterprise-Record, Monday, December 31, 1956: "Lela E. Beckwith". Funeral services were held at the Apostolic Temple on Sycamore Street, Saturday morning for Mrs. Lela E. Beckwith, 59, who died following a lengthy illness last Wednesday. Rev. Paul Munjar officiated at the 11 a.m. services. Sacred selections were presented by Iness Hayze, vocalist, and Mrs. Eva Hopkins, pianist, and the Dyer Sisters, trio. Interment was in the Christian Service Society's cemetery on the old Oroville Road. Pallbearers included Fred Hellyer, Ralph Upchurch, Harry W. Clark, D.C. Churchill, Don Mullanix, and D.J. Upchurch."
*Per interview with daughter Hertha McFarland: Mother was born in Redding California, the daughter of Benjamin F., (born in Illinois) and Myrtle Griswold Camp (born in Pennsylvania). She had been a housekeeper and home nurse, and was the mother of deceased twins: George Alton and Myrtle Alma; daughter Hertha Yaeger McFarland, and sons David Yaeger and Paul Houston.
*The headstone marker lists her birth date as 1898(*), when it should be 1897; her full birth date is December 24, 1897.
