"Mrs Herdrich Laid to Rest
Funeral services were held over the remains of Mrs. Herdrich Saturday at the home of her son, Edwin, northeast of Almira, the Rev Milne conducting the service. Hymns were sung by Mr and Mrs Wynhoff and Mr and Mrs Charles Elliot. Interment was in the LaFollette Cemetery.
Augusta Eisentrant was the second of seven children who lived to adult age, born in Germany on June 12, 1848, being at the time of her death 78 years and 7 months old. She came to this country with the family when 3 years of age and after stopping in a few different places, they took up an excellent homestead in Wisconsin. There she grew up with all the privations, hardships and also blessings of the early pioneers. She was always very religiously inclined with a great horror of wrong doing.
When nearly 23 years old she was married to Frederich Herdrich, March 1870 and again began a new pioneer life on a homestead in Nebraska . After 7 years there they returned to Sheboygan Co, Wisconsin where they lived many years, later moving to Loyal, Clark Co, from which they came to Almira, Washington in March 1906. Here the husband died and was buried 19 years ago in February.
To this mother were born six children: two daughters who have preceded her to the other world, and four sons all of whom are living: Charles and Oscar of Loyal, Wisconsin , Otto of Far Hills, New Jersey and Edwin of Almira.
Mr and Mrs Herdrich both became acknowledged followers of Christ in the early Nebraska days and remained faithful and true to the last of life. Her religion has been a great comfort to her since her very severe illness in Wisconsin about three years ago, she has been anxiously waiting for the summons.
She leaves to feel her loss, her sons with their families, including 18 grandchildren, one infant great grandchild, one sister of Dayton, Ohio, three brothers, two of Wisconsin and one of Nebraska with numerous nieces and nephews. She passed away the evening of Jan 28, 1926 at 8:20 p.m."
