Benny M. Valdéz, age 81 of La Jara, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in Flora Vista.
Benny was born on February 29, 1924, in Blanco to Alejandro and Dorotea Valdéz. Benny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cordelia, sons, Henry and his wife, Cheryl and Arthur and his wife, Jessica, daughter, Dorothy and her husband, Ricardo Gutiérrez, four grandchildren, Naomi and Gavin Gutiérrez and Jeffrey and Jordin Valdéz, three sisters, Lilly Suazo and her husband, Pat, Marcelina Ortega and her husband, Manuel and Margie Esquíbel, one brother, Rosenaldo Valdéz and his wife, Percila. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A prayer service for Benny will be at 7:00 p.m. today, Friday, February 24, 2006 at the Assembly of God Church in Cuba. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February. 25, 2006 also at the Assembly of God Church in Cuba with the Rev. Antonio Soto officiating. Interment will follow at the Assembly of God Cemetery in Cuba.
