His family moved in 1873 to Hamilton, IL, where he graduated from High School. He came to Sprague, Lincoln Co. Washington in 1890.
He married Lora Adelaide Smith 2 September 1896 Sprague, Lincoln County, Washington.
In the spring of 1906 he moved to Davenport to take the position of chief deputy in the county treasurer's office. He was deputy county treasurer for about 4 years and was elected treasurer in 1908 and 1910. At the expiration of his office in 1912 he accepted a position as bookkeeper and assistant manager of the Harrington Harvester Company which position he held until his death. He had clerical positions of trust or had been in business for himself. He also was a newspaper man and was publisher of the old Sprague Times Newspaper for a number of years.
He was a member of Sprague Lodge Knights of Pythias.
He died at his home at Harrington from Spanish influenza.
