HOWARD M. ASHER Howard M. (Spud) Asher, 64, of 1226 Monroe St., died Monday at 3:25 a.m. at University Hospital, Iowa City. He was born March 7, 1909, at Coatsburg and married Alice I. Lourie on Sept. 29, 1932, at Peoria. She survives with a son, Jack of Ft. Richardson, Ala.; a daughter, Becky Ann, Galesburg; four brothers, Larry, Robert, Clifford and Jerry, all of Galesburg; a sister, Mrs. Lelia Seiger, Galesburg, and four grandchildren. He was a member of Vesper Masonic Lodge 584, AF & AM, the Council of Knoxville and the Moline Consistory. Mr. Asher was a carman for the Burlington Railroad for 47 years. Funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, where visitation Will be Wednesday : evening. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemtery.
