DECATUR -Larry D. Harper, 49, of Decatur died 12:09 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 27, 1993) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in McCracken Funeral Home, Pana, with Dr. Don Jones officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday with 8 p.m. Masonic services by Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge 979. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Memorials: American Heart Association.
Mr. Harper was born Feb. 28, 1943, in Pana, the son of Sheridan and Betty Hill Hicks. He was a millwright at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., Decatur, and was a graduate of Pana High School, class of 1961. He lived in Decatur for the past 27 years and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Harper was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Decatur, Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge 979 and Pana Moose Lodge. He was also member of Local 713 United Rubber Workers Union of which he was current division chairman and had served as vice president from 1974 to 1977, president from November 1980 to November 1986 and was on the International Executive Board from 1984 to 1987. He married Mary Helen Dunn March 26, 1965, in the First United Presbyterian Church, Pana.
Surviving are his wife; son, Kevin Dean Harper of Decatur; daughters, Lori Dawn Harper and Brenda Lee Harper, both at home; parents, Sheridan and Betty Hicks of Pana; brother, James Hicks of Pana; sister, Sue File of Pana.
