two granddaughters (Carmelita and Jane),
grandson (Jack);

1900 Census –
329 Larabee, Husband John is 47 and a foreman on the RR. Minnie is 30 and not employed – two young children at home: Sadie, 13 and William, 3

1910 Census –
Living on Cherry street. Sadie has moved out? John is working at the Railroad, Minnie is at home

1920 Census –
Living on Cherry street. Neither John nor Minnie are working. William is living at home and a fireman at the railroad.

1921, August 6, John dies.

1927 – widowed, living at 1015 E Ankeny, matron at the county jail

1930 Census –
Living on East 18th Street. Minnie is 60, a widow and living alone. She is a matron at the County jail.

1940 Census –
Might be living on East 15th Street. Minnie is living with Sadie and her family. She is 70 and still a matron at the County jail.

I know she was a matron for at least 13 years I have the badge she wore.


Minnie was my Great Grandmother.
