Mary Achord is my Great Grandmother. Her mother was Elizabeth Posey and her father was John Achord.
She was married to William James McAfee on 26 November 1868 at the Sandersville Court House by Henry H. Wood, a Justice of the Peace. William was either 19 or 20 at the time, so I am guessing that Mary was either in her teens or her very early 20's.
She and William McAfee had 4 children:
Bessie McAfee, who died at age 7
Nancy Julia McAfee
John Jordan McAfee, born in 1870
James William McAfee
After William died, she married Isaac Tanner, and she and Isaac had 3 children together.
Since William is buried in the Posey Community Cemetery in Oconee, Washington County, Georgia, I am hoping that her grave is also found there. It is known that their young daughter, Bessie, was also buried in the Posey Community Cemetery. It is also possible she was buried with Isaac Tanner.
