Adriane Joy Cox, born just hours after the baby shower given by her Auntie Lil, one month early, June 28, 1970. A.J., as she was nicknamed almost immediately, was the last child of Stanley Richard Cox and Earlene Marie Cox, nee Cranor.
As the baby of seven children, she was at once adored and spoiled, but even then everyone knew she was special. A.J. was sick from birth as a premie and as something that couldn't be identified for her first year. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at her first year. As children ourselves, we didn't understand until we were older what this did to her, our parents and our family.
She had the sunniest nature of anyone in the family, she was loving and sweet and had a wicked sense of humor. She was named for a family friend, but the name was her, true Joy.
She was preceded in death by her Grandfather, Earl Cranor, Step-grandfather, Edward Krieger, her Great-grandmother, Lillian Grogan, and two uncles, Edward Cranor and Jerald Cranor.
With her parents, Stan and Earlene, she left six siblings, Sister, Elizabeth Cox and Steve Klein, brother, Joseph and Sherrie Cox, brother Howard and Janna Cox, sister Julie and Steven Sims, brother Tony and Debbie Cox and sister Paula and Dave Hawes. She is also survived by her aunts Lillian Harness and Judy Pumphrey, both nee Cranor, Betty Dernovic, Pat Thompson, Sandy Walker, all nee Cox and one uncle David Cox.
At the time of her death, 20 years ago, she had seven nieces and nephews, and uncountable cousins.
