John " Jack" Heater

John E. "Jack" Heater, 71, Rock Island, died May 5, 2002, at his home after a long illness.

It was Jack's wish to be cremated. There will be no visitaion or service, Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Heater was born Aug 29, 1930, in Havana, Ill. to Ford and Dorothy M. Stinehart Heater.

He Married Mary Jeanne Edmonds Dec 30, 1950, in Rock Island.

Mr. Heater worked over 40 years for various automotive companies and defense industries all over the U.S. He worked on armored vehicle programs for the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corp. He retired in 1990 from his last position in San Jose, Calif., and returned to Rock Island where he had attended school 40 years earlier.

Jack is survived by his wife; Mary Jeanne; four daughters and their husbands, Debbie (Ron) Dunbar, Northville, Mich.; Pamela (Steve) Coates, White Lake, Mich.; Terri L. Heater, Sacramento, Calif.; Lori (Jeff) Rooker, Loudon, Tenn.; four sons and their spouses, John (Joy) Heater, Hazal Park, Mich.; Brian Heater, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Michael Heater, Rock Island; Brad (Shelly) Heater, Forest Hill, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Goyen, Pekin. Mr. Heater was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Greg Heater; a daughter, Staci Heater; and grandson, Justin Heater.
