Keith Goeke, son of Arthur and Neva G. (Boyd) Goeke was born in Andover, IL. The family moved to Montezuma, IA in his early years, where Keith attend local schools and graduated from Montezuma High School. Shortly after his graduation. Keith enlisted in the United States Navy. and received boot training at Great Lakes Naval Station. Keith then joined his brother Leonard, also serving in the Navy, aboard the USS Cascade, Stationed in Fall River MA. During his Naval career, Keith attended Austin Peay State College , TN. and Navy Supply Corp. School, Athens, GA becoming a Navy Supply Corp Officer. Keith married Marian Bent on December 8, 1956 at All Souls Church, Lowell, MA.

Keith served 23 1/2 years in the Navy. During these years, the Goeke family lived in Massachusetts; Montezuma, IA; Pensacola, FL; Ft. Campbell, KY; Clarksville, TN; Norfolk, VA; and North Kingstown, RI. Keith retired from the US Navy, July 1974 from his last duty station as supply officer-Seabee Battalionn Base, Davisville, RI. The family moved to Minnesota, August 1974, after vacationing in the area the year before. They were impresssed and felt positive about the location, scenery and people in the Lake Benton area. They purchased an acreage south of town, built a new home and continued to raise their family in their beloved adopted town.
While living in Lake Benton, Keith was distict manager for Massachusetts mutual and Security Mutual Life Insurance Companies. In 1987, Keith transferred to CA and in 1988, Marian and their youngest daughter also moved to San Diego. Keith and Marian were employed at the Univerisity of California SD Campus, while Kimberly attended college. In 1994, they retired from the University and returned to their home in rural Lake Benton. Keith spent his retirement days working on his home and yard, playing cards and helping others.
Keith and Marian attended and were members of Grace Lutheran Church, Lake Benton, until Keith met an untimely death, after a lengthy illenss on April 18, 2001.
