My dear sweet niece passed away at age 23, far too young. She spent a lot of time with me as a child, and I loved her like one of my own. She had so much potential - she was smart, funny, beautiful, talented, out-going and good-hearted. She had many aspirations. She loved horses, the ocean and her family and friends. Her many friends, upon hearing of her death, wrote notes about how she had helped them. But she could not refuse or resist the call of alcohol and possibly drugs. I do not know all the details, I know she was getting help for her addictions and was on her 4th step. Just two days ago, her messages indicated she was doing well. The possibility remains that the drugs that killed her may have been forced upon her. She worried that people she loved wouldn't understand, that she had disappointed her family. Her family loved her and wanted her to be healthy, happy and here. And we miss her terribly.
