Norris was the eighth of ten children born to James Leroy and Mary Lucille Johnson Craig in Charleston, Coles Co., IL. He died in Plano, Collin Co., TX survived by his wife; his daughter and her husband; and two grandchildren.

He served in the US Navy from 1951-1954. Shortly after leaving the navy, he headed to Texas where his older sister, Mary, helped him get a new start. He worked at Lone Star Bolt, Chance Vought, and Tex Tool Products. In 1956, he met the love of his life, Roxie. They married 17 Aug 1957 in Irving, TX. His last employer was Menasco in Euless, TX, where he worked for 30 years. He regretfully retired on disability in 1993 due to advanced heart disease. Norris would do anything for the people he loved. He could build anything with his hands, including his own brick workshop at the Irving, TX house he lived in for 25 years. He learned electrical work from his brother-in-law, Jerry Smith. Hobbies were his passion. Some of his favorites included hunting, fishing, RVing, leather working, painting, photography, word puzzles, and yard work.

He's buried next to his mother- and father-in-law, Ruby and Charles Black.
