Mayme Pearl Mueller Lowrance, age 80 of Murray, surrounded by her family and loved ones, passed from this world into the arms of her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 3rd, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Danny Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held Monday evening, May 2nd, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Morehart Mortuary.
Mayme was born on May 14, 1930 in the Murray Community of Young County, Texas to parents, Pearl Edward Mueller and Aliff Odell Webb Mueller. She grew up and attended schools in Murray. Mayme married Meabon Leroy "Larry" Lowrance of Robinson, Illinois on August 2, 1945 in Graham, Texas. Larry preceded her in death on March 15, 1988.
Mayme was a lifetime resident of Murray where she farmed and ranched for many years. Very active in community affairs, she was a member of the Murray Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies' Auxiliary, as well as the Needlecraft Club and the Murray Cemetery Association in which she served as Treasurer. A lifetime member of the Murray Methodist Church, Mayme was faithful to her various church activities. Also an avid geaneologist, Mayme was involved with the histories of both Young and Stephens Counties. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as she was "A Great Lady."
Mayme was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lowrance; parents, Pearl and Aliff Mueller; grandson, Christopher Lee Bryan; brother-in-law, Gene Thomas Dozier; nephews, Mitchell Thomas Dozier, Butch Burress, John Burress, Jerry Crozier, Darrell Crozier and Billy Wayne Crozier; and a step-great nephew, James Daniel Dozier.
Mayme is survived by her life partner, Harold Avery Loving of the home; daughter, Wilma "Jean" Lowrance Cox and husband, David of Haltom City; sister, Wanda Belle Mueller Dozier of Graham; nieces, Deborah Sue Dozier Delong Hannah Grace of Bremerton, Washington and Mary Jane Jenkins of Minot, Illinois; nephews, Harry Crozier and wife, Vera, Charlie Crozier and wife, Judy and Carroll Crozier and wife, Elizabeth, all of Hoopeston, Illinois, Bob Burress of Saint Louis, Missouri, Glenn Burress and wife, Donna and Gary Burress, all of Champaign, Illinois; great nephews, Curtis Mitchell Hannah of Bremerton, Washington and Shane Thomas Dozier of Weatherford; great-great niece, Talon Ann Dozier of Granbury; niece-in-law, Vicki Dean Osborn Dozier Gibson of Graham; step-great nephew, Randy Paul Dozier and wife, Misty of Houston; step-great-great nephews, Tyler James Dozier of Graham and Ryan Anthony Dozier of Houston and many close friends whom she considered family.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Murray Methodist Church of the Murray Rural Volunteer Fire Department and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be sent online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
