MARJORIE J. DESTROMP
ST. ALBANS -- Marjorie J. Destromp, 81, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, surrounded by her loving family, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barbara Destromp, where she lived for the past three years. Marjorie was born in Fairfax on May 22, 1922, the daughter of Charles Francis Barkyoumb and Philomene-Emma Clara Gilbeau.
On June 16, 1939, she married Harry Wilford Destromp who predeceased her in 1991.
She is survived by her children and spouses, David Destromp Sr. and his wife Linda of Rio Rancho, N.M., Gary Destromp and his wife Barbara of St. Albans, and Penny Billups and fiance Randy Potvin of Westford; her grandchildren, David Destromp Jr., Audra-Dawn St. Amour and her husband John, Scott Destromp, Keith and Keitha Destromp, Janice, Derrick and Danielle Billups; also by her step-grandchildren, Joanne Morrison and Jamie Nez; by several great-grandchildren; her brother, Wilbur Barkyoumb of Southwick, Mass.; her sisters Marlene Carney of Vernon, Conn., Jo Anne Chmielecki of Rockville, Conn.; sister-in-law, Jeannette Derosier of Colchester, Conn., sister-in-law Rosemay Riley and her husband Harry of Colchester, Conn.; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Harry, Marjorie was predeceased by her children, Ronald, Nancy Rosemma, Janice Mary, and Keith Charles, and six brothers and five sisters.
Marjorie's family would like to express special thanks to Kim Charboneau of the Franklin County Home Health, Dr. John Fitzgerald, Dr. Don Majerick, Dr. Christopher Fukuda and Dr. Johannes Nunnink for the excellent care given to Marjorie during her illness.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at 11 a.m. by the Reverend Father John Feltz, in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow in the New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington.
Memorials may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478, or to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 11 Loomis St., Montpelier, Vt. 05602 - 3021.
Visiting hours were held today, July 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
