Daniel was the son of Thomas and Jemima Soesbe.
Wife of Daniel Sosbe, Rachel Bircham F, d. 8 February 1844.
Rachel Bircham was daughter of John Bircham and Susannah (?) [later reported to be Fleming]. Rachel Bircham married Daniel Soesbe, son of Thomas Soesbe and Jemima (?), on 15 April 1781 at Washington, PA. Rachel Bircham died on 8 February 1844 at Vigo Co., IN; State of Indiana, Vigo County

On this 15th day of July 1845 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid Solomon Harbert a resident of said county, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following Declarations in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by the Act of Congress passed on the 3rd day of March 1843 granting pensions to widows of persons who served during the Revolutionary War. That he is the administrator of the estate of Rachel Soesbe who was the widow of Daniel Soesbe who was a private in the army of the Revolution, and served in the manner specified in his original Declaration now on file at the proper office at Washington City.

That the said Rachel Soesbe was a pensioner under the act of 7th July 1838 at the rate of Eighty dollars per annum.

The said Solomon Harbert administrator as aforesaid doth further declare that the said Rachel Soesbe widow as aforesaid died on the eighth day of February 1844, that she never intermarried after the death of the said Daniel Soesbe her said husband.

. Daniel SOESBE was born on 13 April 1755 in Pennsylvania. He married Rachel BIRCHAM daughter of John BIRCHAM and Susannah Unknown, on 15 April 1781 in the church at, Washington, Pennsylvania; ceremony performed by Mr. Wood, a Baptist minister. He died on 4 March 1841 in Vigo, Indiana, at age 85 He was buried in Hull Cemetery, Grave 4, Lot 70, Sec. 4, Honey Creek, Vigo, Indiana.5
He began military service in September 1776 in Washington, Washington, Pennsylvania, enlisting in Sept. 1776 while residing near Red Stone, an old fort, afterwards called Brownville, Pennsylvania. Daniel Soesbe served as a private in Capt. Van Sweringen's company, Col. Mackey's Pennsylvania Regiment. He was in the battle of Boundbrook. After this, the company was attached to Col. Morgan's Rifle Regiment, and was engaged in the Campaign of 1777 and was at the taking of Burgoyne. In the spring of 1778, they marched to Ft. Pitt, where they joined Gen. McIntosh's expedition against the western Indians. He was stationed at Ft. Laurens for three months under Capt. Finley, and was discharged Sept. 7, 1779. He removed to Shelby, Kentucky, in 1789 with his brother, Thomas. He appeared on the census of 1820 in Sullivan (later Greene), Indiana; he and wife over 45; others in the household were 1M 10-16, 1M 18-26, 2M 26-45, 1F 10-16, 2F 16-26; four members of the household were engaged in agriculture. He resided in 1826 in Honey Creek, Vigo, Indiana; and at this time was first recorded engaging in a land transaction. He entered land in Honey Creek, October 8 1816, according to one county history, but the record has not been found. Another history says he settled in the southeast part of Honey Creek about 1822. He appeared on the census of 1830 in Greene, Indiana; he 70-80, wife 60-70. Others enumerated in the household were 1M 5-10, 1M 10-15, 1M 20-30, 1 F 20-30. He appeared on the census of 1840 in Honey Creek, Vigo, Indiana; he and wife both over 80.

Rachel BIRC HAM was born on 19 October 1765 in Virginia. She died on 8 February 1844 in Vigo, Indiana, at age 78. She was buried in Hull Cemetery, Grave 4, Lot 70, Sec. 4, Honey Creek, Vigo, Indiana.

8. vii. Sarah Soesbe was born on 22 April 1795.32 She married Unknown Lemon. Sarah Lemon had one (child).
