Kathleen "Kaylee" Moffitt was born on May 29th, 1995: Memorial Day. She was taken from us on April 19, 2007, when she was struck while crossing Peacock Hill Road in Gig Harbor, WA near her home. Kathleen attended Purdy and Minter Creek Elementary schools, and was an honor student at Harbor Ridge Middle School. She was happiest when playing with friends-- both humans and creatures of the forest. Kathleen loved nature and all of its wonders. Despite her youth, she was a talented artist, musician and poet, and she also excelled at math and science. Her love of life burst forth in verse, music and illustration. Kathleen will always be remembered for her unending and contagious enthusiasm for everything life had to offer. Her constantly positive attitude and penchant for the dramatic endeared her to everybody she met. She had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and was always striving to learn more about the world around her. This gave her a deep appreciation for nature and the environment, and she had an active interest in conservation. Kathleen is survived by her parents, Nick and Nancy, her sister Leann, grandparents, Allan and Marge Stoltenberg, uncles and aunts, cousins, many friends, and the countless people whose lives she touched. She would want all of us to continue in her same spirit of living life to the fullest. She put it best herself when she wrote "I am a happy and optimistic person", and "I can not be mean to anyone." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund which has been established in Kathleen's name at the Wells Fargo Bank in Gig Harbor. Please join us in celebration of her life at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church in Gig Harbor on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 3:30 pm. Arrangements are by Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Gig Harbor, 253-851-9991.
