He was a son of the late Clarence and Effie Norman Belcher and a retired employee of Tysons. He was a member of the Summer Shade Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
He is survived by his wife, Cathleen Kingrey Belcher; one daughter, Sheila Chandler and husband, Jerry, of Tompkinsville, and one son, Robert (Bobby) Belcher and wife, Linda, of Summer Shade; five grandchildren, David Belcher and wife, Rendy, of Mt. Hermon, Valeria Belcher of Summer Shade, Jeremy Chandler of Lexington, Paul Chandler of Tompkinsville and Thomas Chandler of Gamaliel; and one great-grandchild, Austyn Belcher of Mt. Hermon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dean Merideth, and two brothers, Clyde and James Belcher.
Burial will be in the Summer Shade Cemetery.
