Elizabeth & James Alderson had 4 girls - Margaret "Maggie", Mary J., Rosamond,
and Sarah.

Mrs. Elizabeth Metcalf Aldersen died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Jarrett, Sunday afternoon and was buried Feb. 1, 1916.
She was born in Swaledale, Yorkshire England, April 6, 1828 and was united in marriage with James Alderson Jan. 22, 1853. They came to America and settled in Benton, Wis., in the following May. Sometime later they purchased a farm in the town of Benton and here resided until the death of Mr. Alderson. She then came to Shullsburg and lived with her daughter Mrs. Hillary until eight years ago, when she went to live with Mrs. Jarrett.
She was the mother of four daughters all of whom were present at the funeral. They are Mrs. Margaret Horsley of Virgil, S.D., Mrs. Mary Hillary of Shullsburg, Mrs. Rosamond Horsley of Virgil, S.D. and Mrs. Sarah Jarrett of Cuba City.
She united with the church 58 years ago and has always been a faithful Christian woman and a worker in the PM church in Benton. Both she and her husband were active in the building of the church at Benton and she found great comfort in her service for the Master.
Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Jarrett Feb. 1 at 1 PM and at the church in Benton at 2 PM Rev. J.D. Blenkinsopp officiating.
