1964, June 29, he was ordained a priest. Joe ministered to a Glasgow Church. He was the chairperson for the McLachlan Clan of GB and England for several years. BA in Scottish History and German. Meticulous research and study of Jacobite History, which he shared through Clan Lachlan Magazine. He assisted in upgrading the Culloden battleground memorials. Joe served several years a trustee of Lachlan Trust. His parish was a deprived area of Glasgow and he was greatly loved.
He died peacefully at home after a short illness on 10th July, 2008. He was buried in the priests' plot at Saint Peter's Cemetery, Dalbeth
