Render Aggen was born in October 1883 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, son of Jacob and Antonetta (Jenna) Aggen, who emigrated in April 1878 from the northeastern part of the Netherlands to the USA. He was very probably named for his uncle Render Aggen (1845 Netherlands - 1907 Chicago, USA, FAG # 129890038).

In February 1906 his mother Antonetta died at the age of 58 years in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

On 7 Feb 1908 Render Aggen married in Mount Greenwood, nowadays a southwestern district of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to the also 24 years aged Maggie H. Yager. Her parents, Henry and Kate Jaeger emigrated in 1881 from the Netherlands to the USA.

In 1910 Render Aggen (26 y, born in Illinois), his wife Maggie (26, Illinois) and their son Jacob (1, Illinois) were living in the village and/or township of Worth, just southwest of Chicago, Cook County,

On 24 June 1913 they had in Worth [Township?], Cook County, Illinois, daughter Theresa Nettie Aggen.

On 26 May 1915 his wife Maggie died at the age of 31 years from a burst appendix in the city of Blue Island, Worth Township, just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

On 4 December 1916 Render Aggen remarried in Blue Island at the age of 33 years to the 13 years younger Jennie Piersma, who had Dutch parents too.

On 12 September 1918 the 34 years aged farmer Render Aggen was living in Blue Island, Cook County, Illinois, when he was administrated on a WW I Draft Registration Card. He was of medium height and stout build, had blue eyes and dark brown hair.

In 1920 Render Aggen (36, Illinois), his [second] wife Jennie (23, Illinois), his son Jacob (11, Illinois), his daughter Teheresa (6, Illinois), their daughter Carolina (2, Illinois) and their son Render Jr. (0, Illinois) were (still) living at a rented home in Worth [Township?], Cook County, Illinois.

On 29 October 1926 they had in Worth [Township?], Cook County, Illinois daughter Jennie Jeanette. On 30 April 1929 a son died in Blue Island.

In 1930 Render Aggen (46), his wife Jennie (33), their children Jacob (21), Theresa (17), Carolina (12), Render (11), David (5, Illinois) and June (3, Illinois) were living (still) in Worth [Township?], Cook County, Illinois.

On 2 March 1931 his wife Jennie died at the age of almost 36 years from complications of a child birth in the city of Blue Island, just south of Chicago, Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois. The next day, 3 March 1931 baby George P. Aggen, born on 22 February 1931, also died. He doesn't have a headstone at Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Chicago.
