Nacogdoches, Tex., Nov. 19. – E. E. Blackwell, civil engineer in charge of the Texas and New Orleans Railway construction crew at Traweek, was killed in a wreck between Mahl and Traweek at 11 o'clock tonight.
The caboose in which Mr. Blackwell was riding struck a horse that had become fastened in a trestle, overturned and caught Mr. Blackwell under the forward trucks.
The remains were shipped to Houston and from thence will be sent to deceased's home at Warrenton, Pa. [Source: Dallas Morning News (Thursday, 20 Nov. 1902)
