SHELBY - Helen L. Crall, 89, of 134 Glenwood Drive died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in Crestwood Care Center after a brief illness.
Born June 28, 1912 in Plymouth Township to Fred W. and Maude Frank Weaver, she had been a lifelong Richland County resident. A 1930 graduate of Shelby High School, she attended Mansfield Business College and was employed with Shelby Mutual Insurance Company for many years. In 1938 she married George W. Crall, who became the owner-operator of Shelby Lumber Co. until his death in 1975. She then became president of the corporation until its closing in 1976. A certified graphoanalyst, she was a life member of the International Graphoanalysis Society. Mrs. Crall was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Ohio Child Conservation League and Shelby Ninety Seven Club. An avid reader, she enjoyed playing bridge and crocheting.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty A. and R. T.C. Mawhinney of Dearborn, Mich., and Julie E. Crall of West Harford, Conn.; a niece, Audrey Dotson of Shelby; and other relatives. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Weaver in 1993.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday from Barkdull Funeral Home. Ronald Wells, visitation coordinator of First Lutheran Church will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Memorial expressions may be made to First Lutheran Church and left in care of the funeral home.
