Betty Ann Chrisman, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Chrisman of Alice, died in the U. S. Naval Hospital at 2:30 p.m. yesterday of injuries received in a fall from the fender of a car on Padre Island about 7 p.m. Friday. Her death was the first on Padre Island since the causeway was opened over a year ago. Hospital attendants were told that about four or five other teenagers were riding with Miss Chrisman when she fell from the fender and was run over by the car. The accident is reported to have happened between 300 and 600 yards south of the fishing pier on the island. Justice of the Peace W. A. Gilleland returned a verdict of accidental death. Surviving, besides the parents, are two brothers, Kinney and Harold Chrisman, also of Alice; and the grandparents. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Moyer Mortuary of Alice.
