Born March 2, 1820 in Northampton county New Jersey, died at his home in Rockford, Iowa, of paralysis, August 2, 1892, aged 72 years and five months.
He leaves eight children - a wife and two children are dead. Mr. Allen was a member of the Methodist church for fifty years, and leaves an earnest exhortation for his friends to live a Christian life.
He was a great sufferer for nearly four years. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, S. T. McKim on Thursday.
