George Garrison, was the older brother to Leonard Garrison, who is also buried in this cemetery. They were the sons of Frederick Garrison Jr. and Margaret Haynes. The youngest brother, Jacob Garrison, inherited the farm when their father died.

He served in the Revolutionary War.
George "Garison" was on the 1789 Greene Twp., Washington Co., PA Tax List, exonerated due to the "Incurtions & Depredation of the Indians."

He served in the Washington Co., PA Militia under Serg. Abner Braddock from 16 April 1791 until 24 May 1791, a total of 39 days. His salary was $3.00 per month, and he received "3 dollars and 9 dimes" in pay (PA Archives Series 6, vol. 5, p. 564).

He was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Washington Co., PA Militia, and a record of his commission is preserved in the PA Archives:

Monday Aug. 29, 1796 A return of the election of sundry militia officers by John Heaton, brigade inspector of the County of Washington, to fill vacancies of that County being made to the Governor.
Commissions were issued to the following named persons,
vizt.:
...1st Reg.
2nd Comp.
Lieut.
George Garrison...
(PA Archives Series 6, vol. 4, p. 550).

Letters of Administration for his estate were granted to James Garrison and Corbly Bowen on 20 April 1843; bond was posted by John Williamson and Irad Garrison. The inventory of his estate was filed on 20 May 1843 (Estate No. 1078; Greene Co., PA Will Book 2, p. 176).

10.) Josephus Garrison, born September 25, 1817, died January 18, 1905; married Rebecca Bowlby.
