Died at Indian Springs Mine, aged 60-62 years, son of David Williamson Bell (b. 1795 Ittle Washingt, PA d. Feb. 13, 1873 New Albany, IN and his wife Elizabeth Wright Bell (b. Dec. 25, 1794 Washington Co., Virginia or Pennsylvania d. March 27, 1862 Harrison Co., IN).

Chico Weekly Enterprise, Friday Evening, July 4, 1890, pg 1, col 7: Cause of Death. Dr. Rodley held a post mortem yesterday on the body of John Bell, who died suddenly in the mountains above Chico day before yesterday. He found that death was caused by a rupture of an aneurism of arch of aorta. The jury under Coroner Bay rendered their verdict in accordance with the above facts. The remains were buried in the Chico cemetery at 10 o’clock this morning, from the undertaking parlors of Fetters & Williams.
