WILLIAM "BILL" C. ALDRICH, 87, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Vibra Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., William worked for Phelps Dodge for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, learning history and spending time with his family. He was also an avid IU fan and Steelers fan. "Bill was a great and loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa and will be missed dearly." Surviving are his wife, Margaret Aldrich of Fort Wayne; sons, Kenneth (Warren Montanye) Aldrich of Largo, Fla., Gary Aldrich of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kathy (John) Veltum of Fort Wayne, Debbie (Bob) Nunley of Dunedin, Fla.; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth Minser of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Hatfield) Aldrich; parents, William and Elta Aldrich. Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Pastor Will Smith officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at the funeral home.
