Charles Edward "Charlie" Craig, 73, Bedford, died at 1:26 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Born May 28, 1934, in Bedford, he was the son of Idris "Buck" and Inez I. (Cummings) Craig. He married Edythe "Edy" Brooks on Dec. 26, 1953, and she survives.

He was a troubleshooter for Indiana Gas and Water Company, retiring in 1990. He then worked for PRD in Springville, retiring in December of 2006. He was a 1953 graduate of Bedford High School; a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1166, Bedford; B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 826, Bedford; and Eagles Aerie No. 654, Bedford.

Surviving with his wife, Edythe "Edy" Craig; are three sons: Jim Craig and wife Sandy and Tom Craig and wife Peggy, all of Bedford, and John Craig and wife Lorelei of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren: Neil Craig, Franklin, Reece Craig and Travis Collins, both of Bedford, and Jonathon C. Craig, and Brooke F. Craig, both of Las Vegas; great-grandchildren: Hannah N. Collins and Adrian A. Collins, both of Bedford; one sister, Martha Bollinger of Bedford; one brother, Joe Craig and wife Maralou of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert "Bob" Craig.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
