Robert Walter Housman, 64 of Hampton, NJ died July 18, 1990 at the Hunterdon Medical Center. He was a zoning officer in the borough and a former police officer. He was employed by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, local Union 455 in Somerville, NJ before retiring in 1987 after 23 years of service.

Born May 25, 1926 in Hoboken, NJ he was the son of the late Richard and Margaret Crozier Housman. He lived in Middlebush, NJ before moving to Hampton.

He was an exempt member and past captain of the Hampton Emergency Squad, past Chairman of the 10th District New Jersey State First Aid Council, contributing member of the Hampton Fire Department and a former Police Commissioner.

He is survived by his two sons Kenneth Housman of Holland Township, NJ, Richard Housman of Hampton, NJ, seven daughters, Patricia Zimmmerman, Barbara Roamer, Susan Matarazzo, and Penny Tampier of Hampton, Debra Lord of Califon, NJ, Diane Housman-Brown of Raritan Township, NJ, and Margaret Jagel of Springville, PA . A brother, Harold Housman of Belvidere, NJ, 3 sisters, Sara Buck, Gladys Weiss and Margaret Pitbladdo all of Flemington, NJ. (3 other brothers, Richard, Ralph and Walter and a sister Marion Bolwby all predeceased him) His loving wife, Clarice, passed away in 2004) He leaves behind nine grandchildren.
