Oregon death certificate # 2838
Cause of death: cancer
Oscar was the son of Olaf S. Pearson (I've seen this name as Olif Pehrson) and Karna Pearson (maiden name unknown). I've also seen her name spelled Korne. Both Olaf & Karna were born in Sweden and are buried at the Maria Lutheran Cemetery in Braddock, Emmons Co, ND.
Oscar had the following siblings: Charles H., Carrie Ella (married a Mr. Hoover), Louise (Lizzie) Agnes (married a Mr. Ellis), Anna Marie (married a Mr. Schumaker and at the time of Oscar's death was living in Canada), Andrew R. and Edward G.
Brothers Charles and Andrew are also buried at Maria Lutheran Cemetery in Braddock, ND.
Oscar married Mabel Maggie Miller in ND. They lived in ND until shortly after the 1940 census and then moved to Salem, OR. They had 2 sons: Wallace Lynn (buried in TX) & Ronald William (buried in California).
*** Mabel married my father, Willie (Bill) Lawrence Simon in Salem, OR in 1950 after Oscar's death.
A bit of history about Sims, ND. Sims is now "a ghost town", founded in 1883. The Sims Scandinavian Lutheran Church (built in 1884) is however still used today with aprox 50 members, although none live in Sims.
