Richard supposedly requested to be buried in an un-marked grave. Little is known about where he could be buried--his father William Ballew is buried in the Salem Cemetery in Mercer County, MO. His wife Rachel is buried in the Princeton Cemetery, also in Mercer County, MO.

Richard Was A Judge in Probate Court 1849-1857.
Richard Helped Establish First Bank in the county 1873 And became its Vice-President.
The Hill on South Broadway In Princeton is Still Known As "Dickey Ballew Hill".

Richard was a Wealthy Man.
Richard saw that no Orphans or widows of the Civil War Soldiers were ever in need.
