Christopher Columbus Dawson was a farmer born in Persifer Township, Ohio, on August 25, 1846. His parents were James and Margaret (Claypole) Dawson of Ohio, and Christopher received his education in Knox County, Ohio. He married Filetta Corbin in 1869 in Persifer Township. Mr Dawson and Filetta had nine children by the following names: Leon Lewis, Joseph Rollie, James Albert, Charles Wilbert, Nellie Alvilda, Etta May, Jasper Winfield, and Harley, an infant deceased, Mr. Dawson's parents came to Knox County when he was 8 years old and settled on a farm where they lived until the death of his mother. His father then sold out and went to Kansas where he died. Mr Dawson remained in Knox County and still lives on his farm near Dahlinda. His familty was at home with the exception of one son, Lewis, who married and is farming elsewhere. Christopher Columbus Dawson is a democrat and has been a School Director.
