First of three children born to Russell Loy (1904-1976) and Lettie Lucille (Yost) Downs(1905-1997). Sister to Russell Eugene (b.1939) and Carolyn Lucile Downs (b. 1941).
On Dec 7, 1950, at age 15, she marries Earl Frederick Crayley, age 21, in Richmond, IN. After their marriage they reside in Marion, OH. They had at least one daughter, Deborah Mae Craley, born Nov 10, 1951. There may have been a second daughter, Dorothy M. Craley. On Aug 14, 1954, at age 19, Dorothy files for divorce from Craley in Mansfield, Richland Co, OH, seeking custody of minor child (singular).

In about 1956, at around 21 yrs of age, Dorothy marries her second husband Albert George "Al" Rowand. On April 19, 1956 they have a son, Gary Rowand. On April 1, 1963, after seven years of marriage, a divorce is granted to Albert in Lucas Co, OH. At this time Dorothy is residing in Akron, Summit Co, OH.

On May 10, 1963, at age 27, Dorothy marries her third husband in Summit Co, OH, salesman, William Byron Miller.
On July 17, 1970, while an attendant at her sister's wedding she is still listed at Mrs. Wm. Miller. On Feb 16, 1976, per her father's obituary, she is still listed as Dorothy Miller and she is now residing in El Paso, TX. Sometime between 1976 and her death in 1979 she marries her fourth husband Perry Bailey.

On May 27, 1979 she is involved in a one car accident at Seth and Middledrain RDS, El Paso, TX. She dies from a fractured spine at R.E. Thomason Hospital, El Paso, El Paso, Texas. At the time of her death she was working as a cashier at the Fort Bliss commissary. She resided at 1606 Catham CIR, El Paso, TX. At the time of her death she is obviously still married to Perry Bailey, as she is buried in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery and is listed as the wife of Sergeant First Class Perry Bailey.
